The Renault 5 Turbo 3E is a 555hp electric "mini-supercar" that looks like it drove straight out of a video game. It’s bold, it’s powerful, and with only 1,980 real-world models being built, it’s incredibly rare.

Thanks to the incredible work of UK engineer and LEGO® creator Dave Collins (known as devonbricks), that dream is one step closer. Dave has spent hundreds of hours and 1,200 bricks recreating the R5 Turbo 3E’s aggressive stance and iconic silhouette, and the result is nothing short of spectacular.

We were so blown away by Dave’s attention to detail that we’ve decided to officially back his mission. From the exaggerated rear wing to the unmistakable retro-futuristic face, Dave has captured the heart of what makes the R5 so special.

"As an engineer, I have an inherent need to design and love getting details right," says Dave. "The R5 was a natural choice... it’s immediately recognizable as an update of the eighties classic."

We couldn't agree more. This project perfectly blends the nostalgia of the original 80s Turbo with the electric energy of the future.
