Renault’s Megane E-TECH Electric is the first of its Generation 2.0 electric vehicles and marks the beginning of a new chapter of the electric revolution started some 10 years ago. Connected to and integrated into the EV ecosystem and the digital world of its users, the All-Megane E-TECH Electric symbolises the beginning of Renault's winning background in the compact vehicle market (C-segment). The Megane of the future is already here!
It is the crowning jewel of the range of on-board technology built into Renault's new generation of electric vehicles. The brand-new OpenR single-screen combines – in an upside-down ‘L’ – the digital instrument panel (12.3-inch) and central console multimedia screen (12-inch).
The OpenR screen incorporates state-of-the-art technology for a smooth and immersive experience. The ‘instrument panel’ section of the OpenR screen accommodates four different driver displays according to his priorities:
- Driving layout (control panels)
- Navigation layout (maps)
- Zen layout (minimalistic)
- Battery layout (loading status)
Google Maps helps you reach your next destination faster with real-time traffic info, automatic rerouting, and voice control.
Google Maps also includes features to assist electric vehicle drivers, for example to help them to quickly find charging stations that are compatible with the car, specifying in addition their availability in real time. For longer journeys, the system helps drivers to find charging stations that minimise their journey time. During the journey, it updates automatically according to the vehicle's data (e.g., energy use, battery information). It also warns the driver if the planned route needs to be changed, should a charging station be out of order for example. With Google Play, you can easily download your favourite apps on your car just as you would on your phone. Conveniently listen to your favourite music, podcasts, audiobooks and more directly from your car.
With the new OpenR Link multimedia system with Google built-in, the Megane E-Tech Electric boasts state-of-the-art technology to provide helpful and familiar apps and services like Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play, while always keeping the system updated. It makes for a unique connected experience similar to the one of a smartphone or tablet, and combines with a brand-new sound experience thanks to a new partnership with specialist Harman Kardon.
Megane E-TECH Electric is the first model in the Renault range to benefit from all the Alliance's CMF-EV platform has to offer. This new benchmark platform is dedicated to all-electric vehicles and makes it easier to manufacture, develop, and optimise performance of each brand’s new-generation models. Its design and advantageous features help push beyond previous limitations to create vehicles with a new design, new features and that are a pleasure to drive at all times.
The revolutionary new CMF-EV platform is fitted with a 60 kWh ultra-slim battery. Optimised weight distribution, a longer wheelbase and a low centre of gravity give the car greater agility and more space on board. The Megane E-Tech 100% electric combines the liveliness of the most compact hatchbacks and the spontaneity of the sportiest. Its front 220 hp electric motor, instant torque of 300 Nm give a new meaning to the word "driving". With its brand-new engine running the All-new Mégane E-TECH Electric takes the joy of driving an electric vehicle to new heights, in particular the instant acceleration, that is as dynamic as it is smooth (no jolting). It takes the Megane E-TECH Electric from 0 to 62mph in just 7.4 seconds.
The joy of driving an electric car is also about not having to worry about battery range. That’s precisely what theMegane E-TECH Electric has to offer with a choice of two battery capacities: 40kWh for a range of 186 miles (WLTP cycle), and 60kWh for a range of up to 292 miles (WLTP cycle, depending on model).

It is a high-tech vehicle always ready to serve, thanks to its new OpenR display and its new OpenR Link multimedia system, developed with Google and based on Android Automotive OS, comes with Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play built-in for a helpful, personalized and seamless driving experience. Each user's profile can thus be linked to its personal Google Account for a more in-depth experience. In addition, the various features of the My Renault app make using the car an even more interactive and proactive experience.
