What an absolutely phenomenal weekend it was at the Goodwood Festival of Speed! Here at Renault Retail Group, we're thrilled to report that our iconic trio – the Renault 4 E-Tech electric, Renault 5 E-Tech electric, and the Renault 5 Turbo 3E – truly wowed an estimated 200,000 car enthusiasts who flocked to the sun-baked event.
Our show-stopping stand was a vibrant celebration of Renault's rich heritage and electrifying future, showcasing models that blend retro charm with cutting-edge innovation.
The crowds at Goodwood enjoyed a highly anticipated first look at the all-new Renault 4 E-Tech electric! Priced from £26,995, this exciting new model not only ran up the famous hill climb course but also arrived fresh from winning TopGear.com’s Electric Car of the Year award and Auto Express’s Small SUV of the Year award – a truly impressive start!
The R4 E-Tech electric beautifully continues the original Renault 4’s legacy of go-anywhere practicality. Its design features many thoughtful nods to its spiritual predecessor, including distinctive three-part rear lights and a single-piece front grille with an illuminated surround. With increased ground clearance, optimised suspension for a smoother ride, and impressive interior space, it's set to be a game-changer.
The multi-award-winning Renault 5 E-Tech electric also took centre stage, adding a vibrant splash of colour to the proceedings in its eye-catching pop! Yellow and pop! Green finishes.
Since its UK launch earlier this year, the R5 E-Tech electric has been a true best-seller, consistently vying for the top spot in the private electric car market since deliveries began in April. Priced from £22,995 and available to test drive at all UK retailers, it's clear the Renault 5 is capturing hearts across the nation!
For the first time ever for the British public, a full-scale design model of the sensational Renault 5 Turbo 3E was on display. This mini supercar, with deliveries set to begin in 2027 and priced from £140,000, is a true powerhouse. It will be driven by two rear-mounted in-wheel motors, delivering an astonishing 555 hp and a massive 4,800 Nm of torque!
As the most powerful road car ever developed by Renault Group, weighing no more than 1,450kg, it boasts a 0-62 mph time of less than 3.5 seconds and a 167 mph top speed. Production is strictly limited to just 1,980 individually numbered examples – a tribute to the original Renault 5 Turbo's launch year – and reservations are open now!
Whetting the appetite of fans, the Renault 5 Turbo 3E concept car, nicknamed Drifter, made a return to the hill climb course, having previously wowed onlookers in 2023. It was even joined by a Renault 5 Maxi Turbo from the 1980s on the opening day, which famously performed perfect spinning pirouettes as it ran up the hill!
Adding to the spectacle, three iconic Formula One cars from Renault’s illustrious sporting past were also showcased: the 1978 RS10 (originally driven by Jean-Pierre Jabouille), the RE40 (originally driven by Alain Prost), and Michael Schumacher’s B195 on static display.
Goodwood Festival of Speed 2025 was a truly unforgettable event, perfectly demonstrating Renault's commitment to innovation, performance, and a future that respects our incredible heritage. We can't wait to welcome you to Renault Retail Group to experience these exciting new models for yourself!
