Following the Renault 4’s win last year, the all-new Renault Twingo E-Tech electric has been officially crowned the 2026 Electric Car of the Year. This headline category win highlights a consistent commitment to creating compact electric vehicles that are accessible, efficient, and full of personality.
A Modern Icon with "Le Frog" Personality
Affectionately known as ‘Le Frog’ due to its striking front-end design, the Twingo E-Tech electric was praised by judges for its intelligent simplicity and optimistic character. Paul Horrell of TopGear.com noted that the car captures the same cheerful spirit as the 1990s original while remaining refined, comfortable, and, crucially, affordable for the modern era.

Despite its city-ready size, the Twingo is packed with features usually reserved for larger segments. A lively 60kW electric motor paired with a 27.5kWh LFP battery prioritizes low running costs, while smart tech like One Pedal driving and OpenR Link with Google built-in ensures an effortless daily drive.
