Renault Serves Up a Stunning Line-Up at Roland-Garros 2025, Including the World Premiere of the 4 Savane 4x4 Concept!

For the fourth year running, Renault is proudly a premium partner of the prestigious Roland Garros French Open, running from 19th May to 8th June 2025. And this year, our presence on the ground is more electrifying and exciting than ever!

Headlining our showcase on the Renault stand is the global debut of the breath-taking Renault 4 Savane 4x4 Concept. This stylish, go-anywhere show car takes the spirit of adventure synonymous with the original Savane and injects a modern, electric twist.

Renault 4 Savane 4x4 Concept: The Ultimate "Gentleman Explorer"

Set to be unveiled on 19th May, the Renault 4 Savane 4x4 Concept is designed for the modern-day "gentleman explorer". The "Savane" name itself evokes a sense of exploration, dating back to the 1950s and continuing with a more relaxed yet adventure-ready Renault 4 version in 1986. This concept takes that spirit to the extreme, offering an even greater sense of freedom.

To conquer more challenging terrain, the Renault 4 Savane 4x4 Concept boasts a 15mm increase in ground clearance compared to the standard Renault 4 E-Tech electric. It's equipped with special Goodyear Ultra Grip Performance+ 225/55 tyres on unique 18-inch "Savane" wheels, and the front and rear tracks have been widened by 10mm on each side.

But the real game-changer is the addition of a second electric motor on the rear axle, providing permanently available all-wheel drive. This allows the Savane 4x4 Concept to tackle muddy, snow-covered, and unsurfaced routes with ease, even venturing into light off-roading territory. This show car brilliantly demonstrates the potential of the AmpR Small platform to create a B-segment electric vehicle with true four-wheel drive capability.

The Renault 4 Savane showcases a sophisticated Jade Green bodywork, a new and chic colour beautifully contrasted by gloss black bumpers and wheel arches. The roof features a unique printed fabric with pixel variations, creating a subtle concealment effect. Practicality meets innovation with new 3D-printed bumper stops that offer shock-absorbing properties. A distinctive "4Savane" logo adorns the side, while the tailgate proudly declares its 4x4 identity.

Inside, the design is equally refined, featuring comfortable seats upholstered in a Deep Brown refined textile (TEP) fabric. A quilted pattern of tonal number 4s adds a stylish graphic touch to the top of the backrests, while a hounds tooth pattern provides an elegant finish to the backrest trim and lateral reinforcements. The dashboard is also clad in the same Deep Brown textile, with tonal top-stitching running horizontally across to the door panels. A backlit "4Savane" logo on the dashboard strip provides the final signature touch.

Sandeep Bhambra, Chief Designer Advanced, Ampere & Renault, perfectly sums up the concept: "True to the spirit of exploration of the Renault 4 Savane from the 1960s, the Renault 4 Savane 4x4 Concept show car pushes the adventurous side of the Renault 4 E-Tech electric to the maximum. Its increased ground clearance and widened tracks are combined with a permanently active all-wheel drive system to allow it to tackle the most rugged terrains. With its unique Jade Green colour combined with Glossy Black elements and the Deep Brown interior, it adds a chic spirit worthy of 'gentlemen explorers' eager for limitless journeys."

Joining the Star Line-Up: Renault 5 Turbo 3E and Renault 5 E-Tech Electric Roland-Garros Special Series

The incredible Renault 5 Turbo 3E is also making its public debut at Roland-Garros, displayed against a spectacular backdrop befitting its exuberant looks. This electric "mini-supercar" is presented in a striking black, yellow, and white livery, reminiscent of the Renault 5 Turbo that triumphed at the Tour of Corsica in 1982. With its 800V architecture and a mighty 555 hp from its in-wheel motors, it perfectly embodies Renault's innovative DNA and sporting heritage. The excitement surrounding the Renault 5 Turbo 3E is palpable, with over 700 customers and 200 dealers already reserving one of the limited 1,980 examples.

Sharing the spotlight is the elegant and sporty Renault 5 E-Tech electric Roland-Garros special series. Available in four sophisticated shades, it pays homage to the world of tennis and the iconic tournament with features like the Cross of Saint Andrew pattern inside and out, inspired by the stadium's architecture. Inside, the focus remains on Roland-Garros with special light grey upholstery in recycled textile, a heat-embossed Roland-Garros logo on the front seatbacks, and a clay-coloured induction charging mat on the centre console. This special series is based on the Comfort Range version, boasting a 52 kWh battery for a combined range of up to 410 km WLTP.

Renault: Official Transport with a Strong Electrified Fleet

Reflecting our commitment to sustainable mobility, Renault is the official transport provider for Roland-Garros, providing a fleet of 187 vehicles, 87% of which are electrified. The primary vehicles are the efficient Scenic E-Tech electric and the dynamic Rafale full hybrid E-Tech 200hp. The new Renault Espace full hybrid E-Tech 200hp also joins the line-up, alongside the Renault 4 E-Tech electric making its tournament debut, and of course, the Renault 5 E-Tech electric Roland-Garros special series.

Furthermore, in partnership with WeRide, Renault is continuing its trial of autonomous shuttles on open roads, with two all-electric minibuses running between Porte d'Auteuil and the village, serving the many anticipated spectators.

Supporting the Next Generation and Social Inclusion

Renault is also using the tournament to highlight "La Lignée," a programme championed by five dedicated ambassadors – Ugo Humbert, Casper Ruud, Félix Auger-Aliassime, Diede de Groot, and Luca Van Assche – as well as continuing its impactful social initiative, "Give Me 5," which works to improve access to sport for young people in disadvantaged areas.

The Renault stand at Roland-Garros 2025 promises to be a thrilling showcase of innovation, style, and our commitment to both the future of mobility and the world of sport.
