Renault, a name synonymous with van innovation and a pioneer in electric Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs), is poised to redefine the market once again with a groundbreaking new generation of electric vans: the Trafic E-Tech, Goelette E-Tech, and Estafette E-Tech.
Developed by FLEXIS and marking the debut of Renault's Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) architecture by Ampere in their commercial range, these vehicles are setting a new benchmark for electric LCVs. Get ready for a future where your van is not just a vehicle, but a smart, connected business partner.
Unprecedented Charging Speed and Range:
For the first time in a Renault vehicle, this new family of electric vans will feature 800V technology. This game-changing advancement allows for ultra-fast charging, taking the battery from 15% to 80% in under 20 minutes at a DC fast-charging point.
Catering to diverse business needs, the Trafic, Goelette, and Estafette E-Tech will offer two battery options:
Powering these vans is a new, highly efficient 150 kW electric motor producing 345 Nm of torque, designed and manufactured in Europe.
Built for Business: Flexible, Smart, and Sustainable:
These new E-Tech vans are built upon a revolutionary all-electric skateboard platform. This design optimises load capacity relative to the vehicle's footprint, featuring a minimal front overhang and a rear-mounted powertrain. The result? An incredibly tight turning diameter, as small as that of a Clio (10.3 metres), making urban maneuvering a breeze.
Renault is also committed to ecological sustainability. These vans boast an impressive 22.5% of recycled materials in their exterior and interior, with 80% of these materials being recyclable at the end of the vehicle's life (excluding the battery). Renault Group aims to increase recycled content across its entire range to 33% by 2030.
Hyper-Connected and Future-Proof with SDV:
The Trafic, Goelette, and Estafette E-Tech are the first Renault vehicles to embrace a central, scalable, and flexible SDV architecture. This means they will receive automatic over-the-air updates throughout their lifespan, ensuring they remain cutting-edge and avoid obsolescence.
Furthermore, the SDV architecture allows for seamless integration with professional ecosystems, embedding digital interfaces directly into the heart of the vehicle.
V2X Capabilities: Powering More Than Just Your Drive:
These innovative vans will also offer Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) functionalities.
A Trio of Champions, Built in France:
The Renault Trafic E-Tech emerges as the Versatility Champion, building on its legacy as a medium LCV market leader with over 2.5 million units sold. This fourth-generation electric model offers optimised dimensions, a modern and high-tech design, and a disruptive cockpit.
The Renault Goelette E-Tech takes the crown as the Champion of Custom Conversions. Sharing the platform and cab with the Trafic E-Tech, its reinforced axles allow for payloads of up to 1.4 tonnes, making it ideal for a wide range of bespoke conversions carried out by Renault's Qstomize and certified bodybuilders.
Finally, the Renault Estafette E-Tech is the Champion of Urban Operations. This strikingly tall van (2.60m) is designed from the ground up to meet the specific needs of urban logistics, featuring innovative doors and openings, and an optimised interior for operator drivers.
All three models will be proudly built in France at the Renault Group plant in Sandouville, alongside the continued production of the ICE Trafic.
The Future of Electric LCVs is Here:
Renault is not just building electric vans; they are rethinking how we perceive, design, and use them. With cutting-edge technology, a focus on sustainability, and a deep understanding of the needs of professionals, the Trafic E-Tech, Goelette E-Tech, and Estafette E-Tech are poised to revolutionise the light commercial vehicle market. Stay tuned for their arrival in 2026!
