New Dacia Striker Revealed: Everything UK Buyers Need to Know

Dacia has lifted the covers off the Striker in full, and the wait has been worth it. After firstshowing us the exterior back in March, the brand has now confirmed trim levels, powertrains, boot space and pricing for the UK market, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most talked-about family car launches of the year. Here’s everything confirmed, broken down simply, plus why registering your interest with Dacia now puts you ahead of the queue.

What Exactly Is the Striker?

Think of it less as a traditional SUV and more as a high-riding estate with attitude. The Striker sits between a wagon and a crossover, raised ground clearance and rugged wheelarchcladding give it SUV presence, while the sloping roofline and load-carrying focus keepit grounded in estate-car practicality.

It’s Dacia’s second model in the C-segment, sittingalongside the Bigster, and is aimed squarely at value-conscious families cross-shopping theSkoda Octavia Estate, Nissan Qashqai and MG HS.

Trim Levels: Four ways to buy

The UK range spans four trims, each adding a clear step up in kit:

Essential — the sensible starting point, with 17-inch steel wheels, roof bars, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch driver display, manual air conditioning and a rear-view camera.

Expression — adds 17-inch alloys, dual-zone automatic climate control and powerfoldingmirrors.

Extreme — steps things up with 18-inch alloys, Copper Brown exterior and interioraccents, a panoramic sunroof, a six-speaker Arkamys 3D sound system and keylessentry.

Journeythe range-topper, adding a powered tailgate, heated front seats and steering wheel, a wireless phone charger and an electrically adjustable driver’s seat.

Two Hybrid Powertrains, No Compromise

Every Striker in the UK arrives with electrification as standard, there’s no non-hybrid option, which is a first for a Dacia this size.

Hybrid 155 is the core offering: a 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with two electric motors and a small battery, driving the front wheels through a six-speed automatic. Dacia’s figures suggest around 60mpg, sub-100g/km CO2 emissions, and up to 80% of town driving completed in electric mode, useful if your daily runs are mostly short hops. Hybrid 150 4x4 takes a different approach for buyers who want traction over outright efficiency: a smaller 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 48-volt mild-hybridassistance up front, plus a 30bhp electric motor driving the rear axle independently.

Combined output lands at 168bhp and 317Nm, with five selectable driving modes; Auto,Eco, Snow, Mud/Sand and Off-road, for genuine all-weather capability rather than badgeonly4x4 branding.

Space That Actually Works

The boot holds 600 litres with the rear seats up, more generous than a Nissan Qashqai orKia Sportage, though just shy of the Octavia Estate’s 640 litres. Fold the rear seats and thatexpands to 1,600 litres. A clever three-way boot floor lets you divide the space, create a flatload bay for bulky items, or flip a panel over to reveal a wipe-clean surface, handy formuddy boots, pet gear or DIY runs.

Safety, as Standard

Every Striker comes with automatic emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, speed limit warning, lane-keep assist, driver attention monitoring and adaptive cruise control includedfrom the entry trim. Buyers wanting extra reassurance can add a pack bringing blind spotwarning, rear cross-traffic alert and a surround-view camera.

Pricing and Availability

Dacia has confirmed a starting price of under £25,000, roughly £10,000 less than a hybridQashqai and around £4,500 below the entry Octavia Estate, which doesn’t offer hybridpower at all. UK deliveries are expected 2027.
