The wait is almost over! One of the most hotly anticipated cars of 2025, the Dacia Bigster, has officially landed on UK shores, and its arrival was marked in true British style – with a resounding proclamation from a traditional town crier!
This morning saw the Bigster receive a quintessentially British welcome as it was driven off the boat at Royal Portbury Dock in Bristol. And who better to herald its arrival than Alan Myatt, the Guinness World Record holder for being the world’s loudest town crier!
With his booming voice and traditional bell, Alan delivered a magnificent shout-out for Dacia’s biggest car yet, just as he would for momentous occasions like the birth of a Royal baby or the announcement of a new public holiday. It was a truly unique and memorable welcome for a vehicle set to make a big impression on the UK automotive landscape.
Did you know that far from being a relic of the past, there are still over 150 town criers registered with the Ancient and Honourable Guild of Town Criers, bringing their own brand of gravitas to proceedings since the 18th century? Alan’s presence certainly added a touch of traditional British flair to the arrival of this modern SUV.
The very first Bigster to touch British soil was a stylish Bigster Journey hybrid 155 in the striking Indigo Blue. This model perfectly embodies the blend of practicality and efficiency that the Bigster promises.
And what exactly did Alan’s proclamation entail? Well, with a hearty ring of his bell, he declared: “Oyez, oyez, oyez! On this day, the 8th day of April, in the year of our Lord, 2025... we welcome with great pride the very first Dacia Bigster to the United Kingdom shores. You know, sometimes big is just what you need. God Save the King!”
This momentous occasion signifies the official start of Dacia shaking up the C-SUV segment in the UK. The Bigster is poised to offer buyers of larger, family-friendly cars exactly what they’ve been longing for: a robust, well-equipped vehicle that delivers exceptional value for money.
The appetite for the Bigster is already evident, with over 500 people placing orders in the month since it became available, even without the opportunity to see or test drive the car in person. Now, the first batch of these impressive SUVs will be making their way to Dacia retailers across the country. Following final quality checks, these models will be available for test drives and display, with the first customer deliveries expected in May.
The Dacia Bigster range offers a choice of three well-specified trim levels: Expression, Journey, and Extreme. All models come with a generous list of standard features, including keyless entry, a 10.1-inch central touchscreen, a Multiview camera, front and rear parking sensors, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, alloy wheels, automatic wipers, and Hill Start Assist.
Stepping up to the Journey and Extreme trim levels adds even more premium features such as a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, rear window privacy glass, wireless phone charging, and the option of a stylish two-tone black painted roof.
