The All-Electric Alpine A290: Power, Performance, and Style Revealed!

The wait is finally over. The much-anticipated Alpine A290 is available to order now, starting at a very attractive £33,500 OTR. That's not all – early birds can score some sweet perks, including up to three years of free servicing and a VIP Alpine experience.

​So, what's under the hood (or should we say, bonnet) of this electric hot hatch?

The A290 comes in two flavours, both packing a 52kWh battery. The first option boasts a 180hp motor with a range of 236 miles, while the more powerful 220hp version scoots from 0-60mph in a scorching 6.4 seconds, with a range of 226 miles (WLTP pending certification).

Alpine hasn't skimped on performance either. The A290 features Brembo brake callipers, electronic stability control, and your choice of three Michelin tire options – Pilot Sport EV, Pilot Sport S5, and Pilot Alpin 5 – all designed specifically for this electric beast.

Step inside the A290's "Feel at one" cockpit and be greeted by an F1-inspired steering wheel and an all-new overtake button for instant bursts of power. Alpine Telemetrics will help you hone your driving skills based on the brand's rich motorsport heritage.

A290 isn't just about power, though. It's stylish too! Choose from a range of colours, including Metallic Black (standard), White Pearly (£700), Matt Grey (£700), and Alpine Blue (£1100). For a touch of extra flair, the GT Premium, GTS, and Launch Edition trims offer two-tone paint options.

Tech lovers will appreciate the A290's immersive experience. Google Assistant is on hand for hands-free control of calls, music, and even specific vehicle functions. A 10-inch navigation screen keeps you on track, and you can connect your smartphone using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.​

Ready to take the A290 for a spin? Demonstrator models will be available for test drives in March, with first deliveries expected shortly after in April.
