Alpine's Electric Era: More Than Just a New Chapter
Alpine is no longer a one-car brand. While the A110 sportscar remains the heart of the lineup, it’s now joined by the A290 hot hatch and the A390 sport fastback as part of a major push into the "sports premium" market. This expansion is backed by serious momentum, with the brand recently celebrating a record-breaking year of over 10,000 registrations.
The Tech Behind the Thrill
The real game-changer is the new Alpine Performance Platform (APP). Designed specifically for electric sportscars, this architecture is built to prove that switching to an EV doesn't mean losing the soul of a driver's car. By using an advanced aluminium structure that is both light and incredibly stiff, Alpine is aiming to outperform even the best combustion-engine rivals.
To keep that classic 40/60% front-to-rear balance, Alpine engineers split the battery into two separate packs. They’ve also developed a "high-tech brain" called the Alpine Dynamic Model (ADM) which manages everything from the e-motors to active aerodynamics. Combined with Active Torque Vectoring- which adjusts power to each wheel every 10 milliseconds, the goal is a car that feels just as agile and responsive as its petrol-powered predecessors.
Keeping the Heritage Alive
Despite all the new tech, Alpine isn't forgetting where it started. The next generation of the A110 will still be built at the historic Manufacture Alpine Dieppe Jean Rédélé in France. It’s a move that preserves the craftsmanship and "savoir-faire" that has defined the brand since it was founded.
A Growing Community
It’s also getting easier to experience the brand firsthand. Beyond the 170 global Alpine Stores, the brand is rolling out immersive Atelier Alpine concept stores, complete with racing simulators and cafes, with a new London location planned for 2026. For those who want to get even closer to the action, the La Piste Bleue centre now offers fans the chance to actually get behind the wheel and sharpen their driving skills.
As CEO Philippe Krief puts it, the mission is simple: to be the leading French sports brand of the EV era by blending new technology with Alpine’s unmistakable DNA.
