A Legacy of Speed: Celebrating Women in Motorsport at Goodwood Revival

This weekend, Alpine is heading to the Goodwood Revival to celebrate 70 years of our motorsport heritage. In a special display at Earl’s Court, we'll be showcasing the cars and the people who have defined our competitive spirit. Most importantly, we're shining a spotlight on the pioneering women who helped put Alpine on the map.

Pioneering Women Behind the Wheel

At Alpine, we've always believed in pushing boundaries and opening doors. This ethos is perfectly captured by the incredible female drivers who have raced our cars throughout history.

  • Michèle Mouton: A rally legend who started her international career in the Alpine A110 before becoming one of the greatest drivers in World Rally history.
  • Marianne Hoepfner: An accomplished driver who took on the challenging Press On Regardless Rally in the USA.
  • Marie-Claude Beaumont and Lella Lombardi: These two drivers competed with distinction in the A441 C at Le Mans, achieving class-leading performances and proving their competitive mettle on the endurance stage.

Nurturing the Next Generation

The legacy of these trailblazers continues today through the Alpine Academy, where we actively nurture the next generation of female racing talent. At Goodwood, you'll have the chance to meet some of our rising stars.

  • Nina Gademan: One of Alpine's newest F1 Academy signings, Nina will be on hand to meet fans and inspire future racers.
  • Sukhmani Khera: A 13-year-old rising star in the British karting scene, Sukhmani represents the very brightest of our future.
  • Nicola Burnside: Our very own Alpine UK Brand Director, Nicola, will be joining them. An amateur racer herself, she combines a passion for the company with a love for competing on some of the world's most famous tracks, including Le Mans and the Nürburgring.

Charting the Journey: From Rally to the Future

Our display in the Earl’s Court Motor Show will feature three iconic cars that tell the story of Alpine’s journey from its rally roots to an electrified future.

  • 1973 Works A110 Berlinette: This is the car that carried Alpine to victory in the inaugural World Rally Championship. With its legendary agility and lightness, it remains a true rally icon.
  • 1975 A441 C Prototype: Driven by the likes of Marie-Claude Beaumont and Lella Lombardi, this Le Mans prototype represents our enduring commitment to technical excellence and competitive spirit in endurance racing.
  • The New A390: Making its Goodwood Revival debut, this all-electric sport fastback is the embodiment of Alpine's future. With 470 hp and a range of up to 345 miles, the A390 blends our racing DNA with the latest in electrified technology.

As Nicola Burnside puts it, “The Revival is a great opportunity to celebrate some of the drivers who made history in our cars, particularly the female pioneers... their success and competitive spirit continue to shape our future.”

We look forward to seeing you at the Goodwood Revival this weekend as we celebrate our rich past and look forward to an electrifying future.
